Superbright delivers IAM systems integration for National Agricultural Group

Superbright is pleased to announce the completion of an integration project for a national agricultural group to overhaul their workforce IAM solution.

With a workforce spread geographically further than ever before, and with limited need for time spent in front of a computer, Superbright has supported a national agricultural group's migration to a single IAM solution providing access and authentication across a broad range of systems with physical card access.

Recent changes to Microsoft Entra requiring MFA by default for all users, and an increasing need for regulatory compliance in the ag sector, as well as a continuing need to enforce TACCP, an increasingly digital frontline workforce in the field required a unified identification and authentication platform to support a wide range of services and systems, both on-premise and SaaS in the cloud.

Supporting a workforce whose use of technology is not directly line-of-work, and without reliable access to MFA, SMS or phone calls, and with limited connectivity to reach a helpdesk for support in an operation that runs 24/7/365, Superbright delivered a smart card-based solution that replaced the Group's existing internal IAM system, implementing Single Sign-On with Microsoft Entra ID, and provided a single identity and auth key for all users across their HR, Finance, Operational Support and Access Control systems where traditional usernames, passwords, and MFA keys were consuming a significant amount of helpdesk time to support.

"Identifying business needs and opportunities for efficiencies is crucial in the high-stakes, slim-margin agricultural sector." said Ben Wilkinson, Director of Superbright, "It was clear from our early scoping meetings with this client that disparate tools with seperate credentials for each service a user uses, and the helpdesk overhead for onboarding and offboarding employees, and credentials for infrequent use by frontline users were in themselves as well creating a significant overhead for the helpdesk and wider IT team. This was identified as an early opportunity for change with a high ROI in the short term."

"Users now only need one card and their PIN to access the full breadth of systems that run the Group's operations. Onboarding and offboarding is straightforward with role-based access control (RBAC) and lost or forgotten credentials can be easily replaced and old ones invalidated easily from a single pane of glass."

"I am really pleased with the outcome of this project by the team and for the client. It shows that there are still new and different ways to approach traditional and common problems to best suit a business' individual needs."

"We look forward to continuing to work with this client to move their IT function forward alongside their internal IT team."

Originally planned to be completed by the close of the financial year, the new IAM platform was rolled out to all users without issue earlier this month.
